Fiona Banner (also known as The Vanity Press) is an artist working with text, sculpture, and installation, particularly exploring representations of war and flight through language. Her "wordscapes" provide frame-by-frame written descriptions of films, while her sculptural works include full-scale fighter jets displayed in gallery spaces. She was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 2002 and is represented by Frith Street Gallery.
