Eugène Isabey

Eugène Isabey (1803, 1886) was a French Romantic painter celebrated for his dramatic seascapes, coastal scenes, and historical genre paintings. Son of the miniaturist Jean-Baptiste Isabey, he developed a highly expressive style characterized by turbulent skies, crashing waves, and atmospheric light effects. His works were widely exhibited at the Paris Salon and remain highly sought after at auction for their emotional intensity and technical virtuosity.
