Equipo Crónica

Equipo Crónica was a collaborative of artists Rafael Solbes and Manolo Valdés who created Pop Art paintings that appropriated Old Master imagery and combined it with contemporary political commentary. Their works critiqued Franco's dictatorship and consumerism through sophisticated visual juxtapositions that merged Spanish art history with mass media. Their work is held in major Spanish collections including the Museo Reina Sofía and IVAM.
