Emily Sargent (1857, 1936) was an American watercolor artist best known for her intimate landscapes and her close creative relationship with her brother, the celebrated painter John Singer Sargent. She painted alongside John throughout her life, yet exhibited her work publicly only once during her lifetime, leaving her talent largely unrecognized for decades. In recent years, donations of her work to major museums have brought renewed appreciation for her distinctive artistic voice.
