Eleanore Mikus (1927, 2017) was an American abstract artist best known for her distinctive 'Tablet' series, in which she folded and pressed painted canvases to create symmetrical, relief-like surfaces with subtle texture and geometric patterning. Her work bridges minimalism and process art, using the physical manipulation of materials as a central element of her practice. Mikus exhibited widely during the 1960s and beyond, and her work is held in major collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
