Cyrus Edwin Dallin (1861, 1944) was an American sculptor renowned for his monumental bronze works depicting Native American subjects with dignity and empathy. Born in Springville, Utah, he studied in Boston and Paris, where he developed a classical yet emotionally resonant style. His most celebrated works include the four-part 'Appeal to the Great Spirit' series, with the eponymous statue standing at the entrance of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
