Charles Rohlfs was an American actor, patternmaker, stove designer, and furniture maker who became one of the most distinctive voices of the Arts and Crafts Movement in the United States. He was celebrated for his highly ornate, handcrafted furniture that blended medieval, Art Nouveau, and organic influences into a uniquely personal style. Rohlfs operated his workshop in Buffalo, New York, where his work gained international recognition and was exhibited across Europe and America.
