Marcel Coard

Marcel Coard (1889, 1975) was a French decorator and furniture designer renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship and innovative use of exotic materials. He was closely associated with the Art Deco movement and collaborated with prominent collectors, most notably Jacques Doucet, for whom he created distinctive lacquered and upholstered furnishings. His work is celebrated for its refined elegance, blending modernist influences with luxurious materials such as shagreen, lacquer, and rare veneers.
