Kudzanai Chiurai works in photography, painting, and video to critique power, politics, and postcolonial African identity. His cinematic staged photographs, such as the series 'Iyeza,' address corruption, dictatorship, and the complexities of liberation struggles in Zimbabwe and beyond. He was the first Black artist to represent Zimbabwe at the Venice Biennale and his work is held at major institutions including the Smithsonian.
