Bernard Cohen

Bernard Cohen (born 1933) is a British abstract painter associated with the development of abstract art in post-war Britain. His work evolved from gestural abstraction in the 1960s through more complex layered and patterned compositions, often incorporating intricate networks of lines, marks, and color fields. He is regarded as a significant figure in British modernism and was a longtime professor at the Slade School of Fine Art, where he had considerable influence on generations of artists.
