Antonio Manuel

Manuel is known for politically charged works including performances, installations, and appropriated newspapers during Brazil's military dictatorship. His rejected entry to the 1970 Salão Nacional involved presenting his own body as artwork. He has exhibited at Documenta 12, Venice Biennale, and his work is held by Tate and Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro.
