Anne Vallayer-Coster (1744, 1818) was one of the most celebrated French still life painters of the 18th century, renowned for her exquisite depictions of flowers, game, and decorative objects. She was admitted to the Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture in 1770, a remarkable achievement for a woman of her era, and later became a favorite court painter under Marie Antoinette. Her works are held in major collections including the Louvre and regularly appear at auction houses such as Christie's and Sotheby's, commanding significant prices.
