Anita Magsaysay-Ho (1914, 2012) was a pioneering Filipino modernist painter celebrated for her depictions of Filipino women engaged in everyday activities, rendered in a distinctive style blending Western modernism with Asian artistic sensibilities. She was the only female member of the influential Thirteen Moderns, a group that shaped the trajectory of modern Philippine art in the 1930s. Her works are among the most sought-after in Southeast Asian art auctions, consistently achieving record prices at houses such as Sotheby's and Christie's.
