Aliye Berger

Aliye Berger (1903, 1974) was a pioneering Turkish printmaker and painter who became one of the first significant female artists in the Turkish modern art movement. Known primarily for her intricate woodblock prints, she depicted scenes of daily life, landscapes, and figures with a distinctive style that blended European modernism with Turkish cultural sensibilities. She is considered a trailblazer in the development of printmaking as a serious artistic medium in Turkey.
