Achille Laugé

Achille Laugé was a French Post-Impressionist painter born in 1861 in Arzens, France, closely associated with the Neo-Impressionist movement and a lifelong friend of fellow artist Aristide Maillol. He developed a distinctive pointillist technique characterized by luminous color and a serene, methodical approach to landscapes and portraits of the Languedoc region. His work, long underappreciated, has gained significant recognition at auction in recent decades for its refined chromatic sensitivity and quiet poetic quality.
