Francesco Bartolozzi (1728, 1815) was a highly celebrated Italian engraver who became one of the most sought-after printmakers of the 18th century, renowned for his exquisite stipple engravings. Born in Florence, he spent much of his career in London, where he was appointed engraver to King George III and became a founding member of the Royal Academy in 1768. His prolific output included engravings after Old Masters and contemporary artists, making his prints highly collectible at auction houses worldwide.
