A Meiji period kabuto featuring a black lacquered six-plate iron bowl with elaborate copper-gilt decorative elements including stylized chrysanthemum rivets. The helmet includes ornamental strips, Dutch leather components, neck guard with colored lacing, and gilt metal forecrest in the form of Hachiman daibosatsu characters.
