A set of three ornate Russian silver tea caddies from Moscow featuring chinoiserie decoration with Chinese figures, merchants, and botanical motifs. Each caddy displays exceptional engraving work and craftsmanship with different geometric forms and gilt accents.

Medium
one of upright rectangular form with rounded shoulders, engraved on each side with Chinese merchants and courting couples within arches bordered with geometric strapwork, the screw-on cover with gilt interior covering a silver-gilt mounted cork stopper with ring-pull handle. The second of cube shape with rounded top and lift-off cover concealing a silver-mounted cork stopper with hinged ring handle, the front engraved with a Chinese man seated beside a bamboo plant, a chibouk in one hand and boxes of tea at his side, the other three sides engraved with floral sprays, the top with a further floral spray and rococo scrollwork. The third hexagonal, also engraved with both solitary and groups of Chinese figures within a chinoiserie-style geometric frame struck with various maker’s marks, the first two AA in Latin, the third CH in Cyrillic, all 84 standard
