This is a Ming Dynasty Yongle period circular lacquerware box superbly carved through thick layers of red lacquer to reveal the ochre-yellow ground beneath. The top and sides feature intricate floral compositions including peonies, camellias, pomegranates, and chrysanthemums with fine detail work.
