The Observer is a set of four screenprints created by Paul Insect in 2021 using an elaborate 12 layer printing process. The work combines metallic and pearlised inks applied to high quality Somerset paper, finished with glitter and high gloss varnish for a luminous effect. This multi layered technical approach creates depth and visual complexity that shifts depending on the viewing angle and light. The series explores themes of observation and perspective through its shimmering, textured surfaces. Insect's meticulous craftsmanship results in artworks that are both visually striking and tactilely engaging.
