Kilcollin constructs this work from resin, felzbar, calcium carbonate, quartz, silica, and glass, layering substances drawn from both industrial and mineral origins into a unified sculptural object. The result carries an internal luminosity, as light moves through and across translucent and crystalline surfaces, animating the piece differently depending on the conditions of its display. At 61 by 45.7 by 48.3 centimeters, the work occupies physical space with quiet authority, its modest scale belying the density of material and conceptual attention embedded within it.
