A Rare Qingbai Brown-spotted Double Gourd-form Ewer And A Cover
YUAN DYNASTY, EARLY TO MID-14TH CENTURY
This rare qingbai ewer from the Yuan Dynasty showcases the distinctive double gourd form that was particularly favored during the early to mid-14th century. The vessel features the characteristic pale blue glaze typical of qingbai ceramics, enhanced by brown spotting that adds visual interest and demonstrates the potter's sophisticated control of glazing techniques. Both the ewer and its fitted cover exemplify the refined craftsmanship of Yuan Dynasty ceramics, representing a period when Chinese potters continued to innovate upon earlier Song Dynasty traditions while developing their own aesthetic preferences.
