A Canton Enamel Kettle | Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th Century [two Items]
Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th Century [two Items]
This exquisite Canton enamel kettle from the Qing Dynasty features a distinctive quatrefoil form with straight sides adorned with finely painted square panels depicting birds, insects, and blossoming branches. The vibrant compositions are elegantly reserved against a rich yellow diaper ground, while a curved spout and high loop handle accent the refined silhouette. The domed cover is crowned with a gilt lotus bud finial, and the base is decoratively rendered with five bats encircling a shou character, symbolizing good fortune and longevity.
