Digits and Pores, Petals and Philapores
A densely intricate work on paper, Caivano's drawing weaves together microscopic and botanical forms in a labyrinthine network of ink and graphite marks. Fingers, skin textures, flower petals, and cellular structures seem to merge and morph into one another, blurring the boundaries between the organic and the biological. The artist's obsessive linework creates a world that hovers between scientific illustration and fantastical cartography, inviting prolonged and searching examination.
