Wu Tsang is a Los Angeles-born, Berlin-based filmmaker, artist, and performer whose practice spans video, installation, and performance to explore themes of community, translation, marginalization, and queer and trans identity. Their breakthrough feature film 'Wildness' (2012) documented the Silver Platter bar in Los Angeles as a sanctuary for Latin transgender immigrants, earning widespread critical acclaim. Tsang has exhibited internationally at venues including the Whitney Museum of American Art, MoMA, and the Gwangju Biennale, and received a MacArthur Fellowship in 2018.
