Utagawa Toyokuni, Toyokuni I

Japanese ukiyo-e printmaker of the Edo period (1769-1825) who specialized in kabuki theater prints and actor portraits. He founded the Utagawa school, one of the most influential schools of woodblock printing in Japan.
