Tehching Hsieh creates durational performance works that test physical and psychological endurance, including year-long pieces living in a cage, punching a time clock hourly, and staying outdoors. His extreme performances explore time, existence, and art's relationship to life. His work has been recognized with exhibitions at MoMA and the Guggenheim.
