Pietro Testa (1612, 1650) was an Italian Baroque painter and printmaker known for his highly imaginative and intellectually complex compositions. Born in Lucca, he worked primarily in Rome, where he developed a distinctive style blending classical antiquity with poetic allegory and intricate etching technique. His prints and paintings, often melancholic in tone, reflect deep philosophical and literary influences, earning him the nickname 'Il Lucchesino.'
