Nicolaes van Helt Stockade (1614, 1669) was a Dutch Golden Age painter born in Nijmegen, known primarily for his portraits and history paintings. He spent much of his career in Amsterdam, where he became a respected member of the city's artistic community and was associated with the circle of Rembrandt. His works demonstrate the characteristic tonal richness and psychological depth of Dutch Baroque portraiture.
