Neil Winokur

Neil Winokur is a New York-based photographer known for his distinctive studio-based portrait photography, often set against flat, brightly colored backgrounds. His work frequently features intimate, straightforward portraits of artists, writers, and cultural figures, as well as still-life compositions of personal objects that reveal aspects of his subjects' personalities. Winokur emerged as part of the East Village art scene in the 1980s and has exhibited widely in galleries and museums internationally.
