Mario Moore

Mario Moore is a Detroit-born painter known for his large-scale figurative works that center Black subjects in heroic, dignified, and historically resonant contexts. His paintings draw on the traditions of Old Master portraiture and Renaissance painting while addressing contemporary themes of Black identity, labor, and representation. Moore has gained significant recognition for his murals and studio practice, including a notable residency at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
