Luis Miguel Suro (1959, 2020) was a Mexican contemporary artist based in Guadalajara, known for his conceptually rich paintings and mixed-media works that explored themes of memory, identity, and the relationship between language and image. His practice often incorporated text, found materials, and layered surfaces to create visually dense compositions that challenged perception and meaning. Suro was also a prominent cultural figure in Jalisco, founding the influential Galería Suro, which helped shape the contemporary art scene in western Mexico.
