Louis Aston Knight (1873, 1948) was an American expatriate painter celebrated for his luminous landscapes of the French countryside, particularly his idyllic river and garden scenes. The son of renowned portraitist Daniel Ridgway Knight, he trained under his father and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, developing a style deeply rooted in the Barbizon and Impressionist traditions. His works were widely exhibited and collected during his lifetime, earning medals at the Paris Salon and strong representation in American and European auction markets.
