Louis-Adolphe Humbert de Molard (1800, 1874) was a French pioneer of early photography and a close associate of Louis Daguerre and the broader circle of early photographic innovators in France. He was among the first practitioners of the daguerreotype and calotype processes, creating some of the earliest genre scenes and staged photographs in the history of the medium. As a nobleman and amateur scientist, he played a significant role in the development and dissemination of photography in mid-19th century France, and his work is considered an important early example of pictorial and narrative photography.
