Leoncillo Leonardi

Leoncillo Leonardi (1915, 1968) was an Italian sculptor renowned for transforming ceramic into a medium of fine art, breaking from its traditional craft associations. He evolved from a social realist style in the 1940s to an intensely expressive, abstract approach in his later work, producing fragmented, glazed ceramic sculptures of raw emotional power. His work is held in major Italian museums and has achieved significant prices at international auctions.
