K. Ramanujam (1941, 1973) was a self-taught Indian artist associated with the Cholamandal Artists' Village in Chennai, known for his highly distinctive and imaginative figurative works populated with fantastical human and animal forms. His art, often rendered in ink and watercolor, reflects a deeply personal and surrealist vision rooted in Tamil folk traditions and mythology. Despite his tragically short life, Ramanujam left a significant legacy and his works are highly sought after in Indian modern art auctions.
