Judy Dater is an American photographer born in 1941, best known for her intimate and psychologically penetrating portraits that explore identity, gender, and the human form. She rose to prominence in the 1970s through her collaborations with Jack Welpott and her landmark book 'Women and Other Visions' (1975), which celebrated female identity and sexuality. Her work, spanning portraiture, nude studies, and self-portraiture, has been widely exhibited and is held in major museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art and the Smithsonian.
