Joos de Momper the Younger was a Flemish Baroque landscape painter born in Antwerp in 1564, renowned for his sweeping panoramic mountain scenes and fantastical landscapes that bridged the Mannerist and Baroque traditions. He served as dean of the Antwerp Guild of Saint Luke and was highly prolific, producing hundreds of works often featuring dramatic Alpine vistas with tiny human figures. His distinctive use of warm earth tones and atmospheric perspective made him one of the most influential landscape painters of his era in the Low Countries.
