Evan Penny creates hyperrealistic silicone sculptures of human figures that explore perception, representation, and photographic distortion. His stretched and compressed portraits simulate the effects of wide-angle lenses and digital manipulation in three-dimensional form. His technically virtuosic work has been exhibited internationally including at the National Gallery of Canada, and his sculptures challenge the conventions of both portraiture and figurative sculpture.
