Emilio Greco (1913, 1995) was an Italian sculptor and graphic artist renowned for his sensuous depictions of the female figure, characterized by elongated, sinuous forms influenced by classical antiquity and the Mannerist tradition. He gained international recognition for his monumental bronze doors for the Cathedral of Orvieto, completed in 1964, as well as a celebrated monument to Pope John XXIII in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. His drawings and prints, featuring graceful nudes with fluid, expressive lines, were equally acclaimed and are held in major collections worldwide.
