Li Gonglin (李公麟, c. 1049, 1106) was a celebrated Northern Song dynasty Chinese painter, calligrapher, and antiquarian, widely regarded as one of the greatest figure painters in Chinese art history. He was renowned for his baimiao (白描) ink line drawing technique, depicting horses, Buddhist figures, and classical subjects with exceptional refinement. 'Jin Bao Tu' (進寶圖, 'Tribute Bearers' or 'Presenting Treasures') refers to a subject type attributed to or in the manner of Li Gonglin, commonly appearing at auction as works 'in the style of' (款) rather than definitively autograph pieces.
