Pat Passlof (1928, 2011) was an American abstract painter known for her richly colored, gestural canvases rooted in the tradition of Abstract Expressionism. A student of Willem de Kooning at Black Mountain College, she became an important figure in the New York art scene and was committed to painting as a rigorous, lifelong practice. Her work is held in numerous public and private collections and she was also a dedicated teacher at the City University of New York.
