Chant Avedissian was a painter and printmaker known for his stenciled portraits of Egyptian cultural icons, from film stars to political figures. Working primarily with pochoir techniques, he created vibrant works that documented Cairo's fading cosmopolitan culture and popular visual language. His works are held in collections including the British Museum and Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art.
