Jacob Kramer (1892, 1962) was a Ukrainian-born British painter celebrated for his expressive portraits and figurative works, particularly his depictions of Jewish life and culture in Leeds. A student of the Slade School of Fine Art, he became a prominent figure in the Leeds art scene and was closely associated with the Vorticist movement through his friendship with contemporaries like David Bomberg and Mark Gertler. His bold, rhythmic style and emotionally charged compositions earned him recognition as one of the most distinctive British artists of the early twentieth century.
