Bernard Langlais (1921, 1977) was an American artist best known for his large-scale wood sculptures and assemblages, often depicting animals and figures crafted from reclaimed and carved wood. He studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Corcoran School of Art, later gaining recognition for monumental outdoor works that blended folk art sensibilities with modernist expression. His estate farm in Cushing, Maine, which features hundreds of painted wood sculptures, has become a landmark now preserved as a museum site.
