Antonio Obá is a Brazilian contemporary artist born in 1983 in Ceilândia, a satellite city of Brasília, whose work explores themes of race, religion, memory, and Afro-Brazilian identity through painting, installation, and performance. His practice draws on Catholic iconography and Candomblé traditions to interrogate colonial history and the Black experience in Brazil. Obá has gained significant international recognition, with works exhibited at major institutions including the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP) and representation by Fortes D'Aloia & Gabriel gallery.
