Andrew Dasburg (1887, 1979) was an American modernist painter known for his role in introducing Cubism to American audiences in the early twentieth century. Influenced by Paul Cézanne and his encounters with European modernism, Dasburg developed a style characterized by fragmented forms, muted earth tones, and a deep engagement with the landscape of the American Southwest, particularly New Mexico. He became a central figure in the Taos art colony and is regarded as a pioneering force in American modernism.
