Preston Dickinson (1889, 1930) was an American modernist painter known for his precisionist depictions of industrial landscapes, urban scenes, and still lifes rendered with sharp geometric forms and a refined sense of color. Influenced by Cézanne and the French avant-garde, he developed a distinctive style that blended cubist structure with meticulous detail, particularly evident in his views of factories, grain elevators, and Quebec architecture. Despite his short life, Dickinson became a key figure in American Precisionism alongside artists such as Charles Sheeler and Charles Demuth.
