Raysse is a painter and sculptor associated with Nouveau Réalisme who created Pop assemblages using neon, plastic, and found objects to explore consumer culture and beauty ideals. His works like "Soudain l'été dernier" combined painted images with neon tubes and ready-made objects in garish, artificial tableaux. His work is held in major European collections including the Centre Pompidou and has been featured in numerous international exhibitions.
