Mary Reid Kelley is an American artist known for her elaborate video works that combine hand-painted black-and-white sets, costumes, and densely poetic scripts drawing on literary, historical, and mythological sources. Working frequently in collaboration with her partner Patrick Kelley, she creates theatrical tableaux that explore feminist themes, war, sexuality, and language through a distinctive visual language blending cartoonish aesthetics with serious intellectual inquiry. Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Tate Modern, and the Museum of Modern Art.
